Health is considered to be an important aspect in every individual’s life and health and wellness are considered to be the true essence of life. The United States Department of Agriculture stresses on the point that in order to maintain a healthy diet people should consume less fat, more vegetables, fruits and whole grains.
A set of dietary guidelines was proposed by this association and people should fulfill their nutrition needs in order to remain healthy. These guidelines revolve around natural fruits and vegetables and things that contain low fat items. Similarly, foods that contain more cholesterol should not be used and items that contain fat should be consumed less (Daily council of California, 2005).
The advisory committee had a special focus on calories and they have advised that Americans should intake calories according to the guidelines of their health consultants.
Individuals should follow a food pyramid because this pyramid helps them to maintain a healthy lifestyle for a longer period. The bottom part of the pyramid consists of vegetables and whole grains and the upper part of the pyramid consists of red meats and refined grains that is the reason why scientists stressed on the fact that people should focus on the lower part of the pyramid and they should consume more vegetable and fruits.
Scientists have allotted a certain proportion of meals which should be consumed every day in order to ensure nutritious and healthy living. When the pyramid was developed nutritionists found out that not all the fat is bad and certain types of fat are essential to health and they even can reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Similarly, after a certain period of time scientists find out that high intake of carbohydrates is also essential for an individual’s health. But researches after a certain period of time claimed that USDA pyramid is not an appropriate source and it contains certain flaws.
The reason for its faulty approach is that it actually promotes all the complex carbohydrates, fats and oils. Research claims that not all the fats are bad for an individual and in the same manner not all the complex carbohydrates are good (Willet & Stampfer, 2003).
Scientists and researchers design these allotments and they believe that a healthy and a balanced diet are essential for an individual. Eating certain amount of each day with proper nutritional plan is essential for an individual and all people must comply with charts and pyramids that are designed by nutritionist.
The food guidelines was revised by the scientist and they emphasized more on eating grains, for the first time but certain other items were also included in the food pyramid which include the consumption of carbohydrates (Harvard School of public health, 2000).
As far as the allotments are concerned scientist and researchers design these allotments and pyramids are revised and designed by these scientist and researchers. These researchers and scientists design these allotments for the welfare of people.
Therefore, we can say that allotment of nutrition’s, Carbohydrates, calories are necessary for individuals and scientist and other related organizations must collaborate together in devising proper strategies in diet related issues.
