Mother, Entrepreneur, Breast Cancer Survivor, Philanthropist, God-Fearing, lover of people was born and raised in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. Traci was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System receiving her high school Diploma from Franklin Learning Center.
While working for PNC Bank Traci Smith, along with her best friend Phyllis founded Each One Teach One Childcare Learning Center. In 2002 Traci transitioned from the banking industry to become a full-time business owner. From there it was history! She and her partner / best friend Phyllis Young met with one Pastor who introduced them to another Pastor and in close to 2 years with the City of Philadelphia in a budget crisis, Traci Smith and her partner opened 3 more centers bringing them to a total of 4. However this was not to be the end of the story. The demand for quality childcare began to grow as well as their reputation around the city. Due to demand and their growing waiting list they were forced to open 2 more centers now totaling 6 establishments. Traci Smith and her partner service 350 young scholars throughout the school year and up to 500 in the summer. All total there are 5 Child Care Centers and 1 Christian Academy spread throughout the city of Philadelphia in West Philadelphia, Germantown, Darby, and Southwest Philadelphia.
In 2013, Traci received some devastating news from her doctor. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Once again, Traci did not see this as a negative, but rather she faced it positively. She received rave reviews on her personal appearance every visit to chemotherapy. She lived her life around with the affirmation that “I am BEAUTIFUL both inside and out”, regardless of the loss of her hair, nails, and eyelashes. After a year of helping others to feel like she felt, once again along with her business partner “Traci’s BIO (Beautiful Inside and Out)” was founded in 2014. The mission of this organization is to help women who are battling with cancer to maintain a level of normalcy while going through an abnormal process. It is her desire to provide women with services and resources to assist them with this life changing process. It is her desire to see them not only survive, but thrive. Traci’s BIO celebrates life and to date she has serviced over 25 women with photo shoots, hair and make-up make-overs, and more. This is only the beginning for Traci as she has more life to live and more to give. So stay tune as God continues to write the next chapters of her life!
